Amy Tangerine Rise and Shine Hybrid Junk Journal for a swap at MAS

Hi All! I got in on a summer themed Hybrid Junk Journal swap at http://minialbumscraps.ning.com/. They host lots of swaps for mini albums and junk journals and the like, so it's one of my favorite websites. The "hybrid" part of this swap was to incorporate some mini album pages into your junk journal.

I did a little layout on the front cover starting with a base page of the coordinating acetate sheet from the Amy Tangerine Rise & Shine Collection. The closure is hand dyed seam binding tied in a bow around a big globe brad.

This undercut page is a feature of the All Occasions Mini Album and makes a fun addition to the junk journal. I've tucked a ribbon-topped tag and a little coin envelope in the undercut page, and used on of the gorgeous stickers from the collection to give the page more interest. In the back is some coffee died ledger paper with a cut-a-part pocket to hold more goodies.

I used some funky mustache paperclips to attach one of the cute journaling cut-a-parts from the 12 x 12 collection. I also added a little boom box cut from a Silhouette file that doubles as a decoration and a tuck spot for photos. I added tabs to some of the pages for some more visual interest as well.

I bound the journal with the Cinch machine and then added some charms. I've started adding hand cast resin macaroon charms to my junk journals and mini albums. It's on a lobster clasp, as is the bottle cap charm, so both can be removed and placed wherever you like. I also hung a wing charm and a wood veneer piece from the binding.

Here's the video that shows the journal in much more detail:

I really hope my swap partner loves the junk journal. I had a total blast making it, and can't hardly wait to make more.

Oh Darling All Occasions Mini Album for MAS Swap

Hi All! I got in on a swap at http://minialbumscraps.ning.com/ for an All Occasions Mini Album made from Kathy King's Tutorial. It's an excellent tutorial and the book was a ton of fun to make. You can purchase a copy of the tutorial at http://paperphenomenon.com/.

On the front cover I used some rick rack in a couple of colors to make a nice border and used a Tim Holtz buckle and ribbon closure with eyelets set 1/2" apart to allow the album and closure to expand just like a belt as pictures are added.

I used the Oh Darling Collection from Crate Paper to make the mini. Inside the front cover, I used some of the vellum ephemera to make a photo spot. The vellum frame is open at the top to allow a picture to slide in.

The undercut pages are a really fun part of this album. It adds some extra interest and dimension. I cut some really cute coin envelopes from the 12 x 12 coordinating vellum sheets. I also added a couple of Maggie Holmes bobby pin style clips to the undercut pages.

Inside the back cover, I created a waterfall to add even more space for photos. This pattern really allows a lot of space for photos as it is, but with the addition of the waterfall, you can add loads. I used some ribbon, a chipboard button and a couple of magnets to create the closure.

I gotten so I love to add both a bottle cap charm and a hand made resin macaron charm to my mini albums and junk journals. It just adds a little extra goodie, which can make the difference between a good album and a great one.

Here's a video to see the mini album in more detail:

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you like the mini album and find some inspiration to make some of your own.

Blush Glam Lapbook 2 - Lurve it!

This is my first Lapbook 2. A client contacted me to see if I'd make her one and I was so excited to have the opportunity once I got a look at Kathy Orta's design. I absolutely loved making it!

I used the Blush Glam paper stack from Craft Smith. I used about a stack and a half, so there's a ton of patterned paper here.

The client asked for lots of envelopes, tuck spots, and tags. So that's what I made.

I made them all by hand, including the file folders.

It is packed with tuck spots and journaling cards and photo mats.

Here's a little video showing this lovely album in much greater detail: https://youtu.be/CWrtLGTIWZ4

I'm so glad to have had a chance to make this. I will definitely be making more and listing them on etsy.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
